A priority is something given or deserving attention before competing alternatives. Because you have limited resources and numerous goals, you must decide which few deserve your attention before others. When you set priorities, you establish a path for your goals. Your priorities will spring from a blend of considerations: business priorities based on strategic vision and values; realistic goals viewed in terms of importance, resources, and urgency; and personal values and personality types â yours and those of others in your work group. Setting and managing priorities is a challenge. Luckily, there are a variety of tools and techniques available to assist you in your efforts. This program is designed to help you: recognize the role of strategic vision and values in setting and managing priorities, identify the human factors that influence priorities, and use techniques to manage priorities.
