With the new Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) released in 2017 comes many changes in tax planning. Alimony is no exception. The new federal tax laws have impacted alimony in several different ways. Lambers has put together a 2 credit hour continuing education course to cover the changes. This video self-study course is taught by Professor Arthur Reed, MBA, CPA, MST.
The new tax rules the deductions for alimony payments is eliminated. Individuals who receive alimony do not need to recognize alimony as taxable income. The Lambers course will cover these changes as well as frontloading and recapture, IRA contributions, and what constitutes alimony. These new tax rules may lead to more difficult negotiations between parties in a divorce.
This course is offered for CE and CPE. For more information on this course on Tax Planning for Alimony and other Lambers continuing education courses please visit: Lambers Continuing Education
